- Rev. Pringle, Rev. Gordon, and Rev. King preceded Rev. A. L. Perkins.
- 1938-The church was remodeled under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Perkins.
- Rev. Perkins served Gilfield continuously for 51 years
- Rev. M.C. Barnwell served as interim minister until Dr. R. D. Gragg was elected.
- In 1952, a new church was built under the leadership of Rev. Gragg.
- Rev. Gragg served as pastor for approximately 31 years.
- Rev. Knighton was elected as interim pastor until 1981.
- In 1981, Rev. Knighton was elected as pastor of the church.
A fellowship hall, central heating and cooling system, and pavement of the church parking lot were done under the leadership of Rev. Knighton.
Morning worship was changed from one Sunday to two Sundays. Rev. Knighton served 16 years.
1998-Rev. Donald R. Naylor, Sr., was elected as pastor. Improvement of the church continued until 1998.
On the morning of September 4, 1998, the church was destroyed by fire.
7 months later -April, 1999, a new church was rebuilt under the leadership of Rev. Naylor.
Morning worship was changed from two Sundays to four Sundays. Rev. Naylor served approximately 6 years,
2005-Rev. Theodis McSwain was elected as pastor.
Rev. McSwain started us going back to the Southwest and State Convention.
He always said, “The more you go, the more you know, and the more you know, the more you grow.”
Rev. McSwain served approximately 12 years.
Rev. James Larkin served as Associate Pastor to Rev. McSwain.
July, 2018, Rev. Dr. Clarence L. Gary was elected as pastor of the church.
In October 2018, we had our first Annual Gilfield Day under the leadership of Rev. Gary. Also, a church bus was purchased to travel and fellowship inside and outside of the Gilfield District.
2025 CHURCH HISTORY
Rev. Terrance L. Burrell, Sr. was elected as pastor on April 8, 2025. He preached his first sermon as pastor the first Sunday in May 2025.
Rev. Terrance L. Burrell, Sr. was installed as pastor of the church on June 8, 2025, and currently serves as pastor.
